The Masumoto Family Farm is a long time partner of Waterbar's. The organic peaches and nectarines that grow on their land are raised with the love and care one would expect from a third generation California farming family. This last weekend a team drove just outside of Fresno to Del Rey, California and harvested our adopted peach and nectarine trees. As it turned out, the peach tree was not quite as bountiful as our Le Grand nectarine trees... good luck to the gang going back this weekend for the last harvest of the 2014 season! They should be bringing back quite a load of both peaches and nectarines, nature needed a little more time.
Their is something to be said for hand picking the produce we use at the restaurant. It was an amazing experience to see where and who we get our ingredients from. The Masumoto Family consists of Mas (the father) Marcy (the mother) Nikiko (the daughter) and last but not least Korio (the son). These are the great people that provide us with an amazing product and to work along side them is beyond satisfying. We've already started using the peaches and nectarines! I literally picked them myself! What a fun adventure and something we look forward to sharing with you- through the newest additions to our menu and the great pictures we took.
